UBG Seminar: Matt Stinchfield, Safety Ambassador for the Brewers Association

Date
May 01, 2019 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Description

Matt Stinchfield has been actively creating safer workplaces for over three decades. He has focused on brewery safety for the last 20 years as a safety and loss control consultant to mid-sized and regional craft breweries and distilleries. Matt is a member of the Brewers Association’s safety subcommittee and sits on the Master Brewers Association of America’s food safety committee.

Matt founded his own brewery, Ploughshare Brewing Company, in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2014.

Matt will present to UBG members on May 1 on "Exciting Safety Resources for Brewers" at Squatters downtown at 4pm.

The content is in four parts: 1) BA’s commitment to safety; 2) a discussion of helpful safety resources for brewers with an emphasis on including free, valuable brewer resources, such as BA-developed Best Management Practices, video education, forum interaction, and presentations; 3) an overview of the hazard assessment process; and 4) a rundown of some commonplace safetyconcerns for brewers. Since each state has known peculiarities having to with safety laws, OSHA, etc., Matt will also address state-specific programs.
